Shenzhen — Airport to city

Shenzhen Bao'an (SZX) now operates from a single terminal, T3 (see the note below). From arrivals, four options branch off — the metro, an official taxi, Didi ride-hailing, or an airport bus — each below with its real fares, pickup points and signs to follow.

Ferry to Hong Kong Airport is suspended

The Fuyong ferry pier (福永码头) route to Hong Kong Airport's SkyPier (海天码头) has been suspended since 16 March 2026 — the Macau ferry route from the same pier was suspended the same day — with no restart date announced. Use the metro plus a land border crossing instead, and confirm current status before you travel.

Kids

Children 1.2m or under ride free, as do under-6s carrying an official Shenzhen child transit card (深圳通儿童卡). Children 1.2–1.5m pay half the regular fare.

Bags

Bags up to 30kg and up to 1.6m (length+width+height combined) pass through the gates for free. From 20–30kg or 1.4–1.6m, buy a luggage ticket (行李票, priced like a one-way fare) at the customer-service counter first — riders already on a free-ride policy or in the business carriage don't need one. Anything heavier or bigger is turned away at the gate.

FAQ

Frequently asked questions

From Bao'an Airport's (SZX) single terminal, T3, you have four options: Metro Line 11 to Futian (¥7, or about ¥21 for the business carriage), an official taxi (¥10+¥2.7/km by day, more at night, roughly ¥90–130 to Futian), Didi ride-hailing, or the ¥20 route-330 airport bus to Hualian Building. Pick by your arrival time, luggage and destination.

Yes — Metro Line 11 (机场线), a short walk from arrivals at 机场站, runs into downtown via 宝安, 前海湾, 南山, 后海 and 车公庙 to 福田 (Futian). A regular seat is ¥7; the business carriage is about ¥21. Don't confuse it with Line 20, which only reaches the exhibition center (会展城), not downtown.

By day, ¥10 flagfall plus ¥2.7/km; at night (23:00–06:00) ¥13 flagfall plus ¥3.51/km, with an extra ¥15 airport surcharge from 23:30–06:00. Travel guides report roughly ¥90–130 to Futian and ¥110–134 to Luohu — these are estimates, so watch the meter. Only red-bodied or pure-electric taxis serve the airport rank, on GTC level 2 near gate 13.

No — the Fuyong ferry pier route to Hong Kong Airport's SkyPier has been suspended since 16 March 2026, with no restart date announced. Use the metro plus a land border crossing, or another route into Hong Kong, instead.

The metro. Line 11 costs just ¥7 to Futian (business carriage about ¥21), and it's a short walk from arrivals at 机场站. Best for a daytime arrival with light luggage and a hotel near a Line 11 stop.

Yes. Set your destination in Didi (it has an English app that works with a foreign card — use the separate AMap Global edition for English) before you walk out, then follow 网约车 signs to Zone A (GTC south side, outdoors) or Zone B (GTC level 1, indoors) via gate 15, and match the plate before you get in. There is no fixed airport fare — the app quotes.

How we verify airport routes

  • We prefer airport, metro, rail, and government operator pages for route, ticketing, terminal, and schedule claims.
  • If an exact fare, pickup bay, or last-train time is not confirmed on an operator page, we tell travelers to check it instead of publishing a number.
  • Last-updated dates mark when source links and page claims were reviewed.
