Harbin — Airport to city

Harbin Taiping International Airport (HRB) has no metro line — here's every real way into the city: the ¥20 airport bus, a metered taxi, or DiDi, all based at T2 Gate 7, plus what the 240-hour visa-free transit policy means if you're passing through.

T1 is international, T2 is domestic — all ground transport is at T2 Gate 7

T1 handles all international flights (since July 2024) with 6 boarding bridges and a walkway to T2; T2 handles domestic flights and is where all ground transport — buses, taxis, ride-hailing — is based, at Gate 7. If you land at T1, follow the connecting walkway to T2 for onward transport.

No metro yet — a Line 9 airport link is years away

There is currently no metro to the airport. A future Metro Line 9 airport line is in early planning (a risk-analysis study was awarded Nov 2025) but is likely years away — expected around 2030 per public planning documents. Bus, taxi and ride-hailing are the only options for now.

Heilongjiang's only 240-hour visa-free transit port

Harbin Taiping is Heilongjiang province's only port offering the 240-hour (10-day) visa-free transit policy, confirmed by the provincial government and the official Belt-and-Road portal (both citing the Dec 2024 NIA announcement). You need a valid passport and a confirmed onward ticket to a third country/region within 240 hours — confirm your current eligibility with your airline or immigration before you travel.

Fare
¥20 (阿城 ¥55)

Where & how to board

  • All 8 official routes — Lines 1 through 6, an Airport Express line, and a Jiangbei Wanda line — board at the same spot: T2, 1st floor, Gate 7 (T2航站楼一层7号门). Follow 机场大巴 / Airport Bus signs from arrivals.
  • Check the route board at Gate 7 for the line that passes closest to your hotel — coverage varies by route, and not every line touches the same part of the city.
  • A T3 satellite hall is planned for the airport's 2026–2035 "mature phase" but is not built or open yet — everything today still routes through T2 Gate 7.

How we verify airport routes

  • We prefer airport, metro, rail, and government operator pages for route, ticketing, terminal, and schedule claims.
  • If an exact fare, pickup bay, or last-train time is not confirmed on an operator page, we tell travelers to check it instead of publishing a number.
  • Last-updated dates mark when source links and page claims were reviewed.
