Daily use — real scenarios

Pay in a shop or restaurant

Open Me → Pay and Services → show your QR for the cashier to scan, or tap Scan to scan the merchant's QR. Both ways work.

  • Transactions ≤ ¥200 are fee-free; transactions > ¥200 incur a ~3% service fee (refunds return the fee proportionally).
  • Payment declined? Check your limit, try a smaller amount, switch from Wi-Fi to mobile data, or use Alipay.

Message and translate

  • Add contacts by scanning their QR code or searching their WeChat ID / phone number.
  • Long-press any message → Translate to read it in English.

Use a Mini Program

Pull down the Chats list → search for a Mini Program (e.g. DiDi, Meituan, hotel check-in).

  • Note: Mini Programs inside WeChat may still be mostly Chinese even when WeChat itself is in English.

After your trip

Keep the app and linked card active — it works on your next visit.
