Hangzhou Xiaoshan International Airport (HGH) has four terminals — check which one your flight uses before you plan (see below). From the airport, four transport options branch off: metro, taxi, ride-hailing and the airport bus. Below is each option with its real fares, times and the signs to follow — including the one trip-up almost every visitor makes: the Line 19 Airport Express does not go straight to West Lake.

Fare & cautions
Metered: ¥13 flagfall (first 3 km), then ¥2.5/km (3–10 km), ¥3.75/km beyond 10 km.
A night surcharge (23:00–05:00) adds about 30% to the metered fare. Travel guides report roughly ¥120 to 武林广场 (Wulin Square), ¥100–110 to 城站 (Hangzhou Railway Station), and ¥70–80 to 南站 (Hangzhou South Railway Station) — the airport is about 30 km from West Lake, so watch the meter and expect variation by destination.
Pay by meter; have Alipay / WeChat Pay ready plus a little cash as backup.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
From Hangzhou Xiaoshan Airport (HGH) you have four options: the metro (Line 1 direct to 龙翔桥 near West Lake, ¥7–8) for daytime arrivals, an official metered taxi (¥13+¥2.5/km, roughly ¥70–120 depending on destination), Didi ride-hailing, or the ¥20 武林门专线 night bus (23:30–01:30 into the city) for very late arrivals after the metro stops. Pick by your arrival time, luggage and destination.
Yes — board Metro Line 1 directly at 机场站 toward 龙翔桥 (Longxiangqiao), about 59 minutes and a 5-minute walk from West Lake. The Line 19 Airport Express is faster but goes to 火车西站 (Railway West Station), not West Lake — you'd have to transfer at 西湖文化广场 onto Line 1.
Metered at ¥13 flagfall (first 3 km), then ¥2.5/km (3–10 km) and ¥3.75/km beyond 10 km, with a roughly 30% night surcharge (23:00–05:00). Travel guides report about ¥120 to 武林广场, ¥100–110 to 城站, and ¥70–80 to 南站 — confirm on the meter since these are estimates, not a published tariff.
HGH has four terminals — T1 and T3 for domestic flights, and T4 (opened September 2022, about 800m southwest of the other three) for international flights plus some domestic ones; T2 is largely inactive today. Confirm which one your flight uses before you plan your route.
The metro. Line 1 costs about ¥7–8 to downtown and runs directly to 龙翔桥 near West Lake — the best option for a daytime arrival with light luggage.
Yes. Set your destination in Didi (it has an English app that works with a foreign card — use the separate AMap Global edition for English) before you walk out, then follow 网约车 signs to the Ground Transport Center level B2 — Didi pickups use Zone K4, other platforms use Zone K3. There is no fixed airport fare; the app quotes before you confirm.
How we verify airport routes
We prefer airport, metro, rail, and government operator pages for route, ticketing, terminal, and schedule claims.
If an exact fare, pickup bay, or last-train time is not confirmed on an operator page, we tell travelers to check it instead of publishing a number.
Last-updated dates mark when source links and page claims were reviewed.
