Me → settings → Language → English. Hotels, restaurants and travel are translated. Delivery checkout stays Chinese.
The app says more pages are coming. Pay with Alipay. There is no card form on Meituan. Link the card in Alipay, then choose 支付宝支付.

Where people get stuck
Cannot find the language setting
Menus stay Chinese until you switch. The row is labeled Language. The same list also has 한국어 and 日本語.
Workaround: Me → settings → Language → English → Save.
Delivery checkout did not switch
Same-day delivery 备注, 支付宝 and 立即支付 were Chinese. There is no English checkout.
Workaround: Read that screen with the translate card above. Choose 支付宝支付 and pay with Alipay.
English hotel names miss
English hotel names often miss. A wrong pin means no shops, or the bag goes somewhere else.
Workaround: Ask reception to enter the Chinese address once. Move the pin onto the hotel, then search.
SMS from a home number
Signup often asks for an SMS code. Do not plan on a number outside China receiving that code.
Workaround: If the code does not arrive, stop. Meituan is not required. Set up WeChat first — the guide is in the links below.
Not a policy
Adding a card on Meituan
There is no card form on Meituan. Checkout is 支付宝支付.
Workaround: Link the foreign card in Alipay. On Meituan, pay with Alipay. Alipay guide is the button above.
Hotel delivery stops at the lobby
The pin needs a Chinese address. Hotels often will not send the bag to the room.
Workaround: Ask reception to enter the address once. Write 请放到前台 in 备注.
